Salmonella Outbreak

Each year more than a million Americans get sick from salmonella due to the federal inspectors over looking chicken. The U.S. department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection oversee poultry, they only look at an average of one bird each day at the plants that process up to hundreds of thousands of chickens each day. When they test the bird, they don't test for bacteria, sometimes they don't do tests at all. I'd like to know which farms do test all their animals, dead and alive, and how well their animals are taken care of. Distributors will eventually stop buying chicken from poultry farms because they will no longer be save to sell to eat.

Scavenger Hunt

Alana and I had participated in the class scavenger hunt. We had adventured outside and journeyed around the school. It was nice having someone there to help find the items that were on the list. It made me realize that the places we picked to find things and take pictures of reminded me that "great minds think alike" and that it's always good to have a "second set of eyes."
